FINDING US and
AVOIDING THE TRAFFIC
We are an easy drive from Sacramento with routes that can get you around Apple Hill Traffic. When other locations are jammed packed with long lines, here is one of our favorite local routes to avoid the gridlock and get you in and out of Jack Russell Farm Brewery. In the age of GPS and Google Maps, providing directions is a bit old school. But during Apple Hill Season, GPS could take you right into the middle of crazy traffic. Here is how we get in and out of the farm during Apple Hill.
From Highway 50 East Towards Tahoe
PREPARE TO EXIT AT
CAMINO HEIGHTS DRIVE
(Helpful Tip: When you see the Purple Sushi Place and Red Psychic sign on the right, get into the right lane promptly. If you miss the Camino Heights Exit, you will need to go further up the hill to Carson Road and will end up in Apple Hill Traffic.)
From Highway 50 East Towards Tahoe
EXIT AT CAMINO HEIGHTS DRIVE.
(Helpful Tip: Once you make the right off the freeway, prepare to turn left quickly in front of the gas station. Oncoming traffic has a stop sign so don’t panic, you have the right of way to go left.)
From Camino Heights Drive
MAKE A QUICK LEFT ONTO
SIERRA BLANCA DRIVE
(Helpful Tip: Once you pass the gas station on right and little park-and-ride on the left, cruise down Sierra Blanca until you reach the Apple Hill Round-a Bout.)
From Sierra Blanca Drive (which turns into Ponderosa Dr)
GO AROUND THE IRON APPLE TRAFFIC CIRCLE AND UNDER THE UNDERPASS.
(Helpful Tip: Enjoy the apple and it features all that is great about Apple Hill. Go under the underpass and up to the stop sign.)
From Ponderosa Drive
MAKE A RIGHT ON CARSON ROAD.
(Helpful Tip: Go up about a mile. Once you see the Chevron gas station, its almost time to make a left.)
On Carson Road
AS YOU PASS THE GAS STATION AND HIGHWAY 50 WEST ONRAMP, PREPARE TO TURN LEFT.
(Helpful Tip: After visiting Jack Russell, this is the easiest way to get back onto the Freeway.)
From Carson Road
TURN LEFT ONTO BARKLEY ROAD
(Helpful Tip: Your almost there. Just one more turn and you are at Jack Russell.)
From Barkley Road
MAKE A LEFT ONTO LARSEN ROAD
(Helpful Tip: Your last turn before the Brewery. Whew that was easy.)
Continue on Larsen Road
KEEP HEADING STRAIGHT PAST THE INTERSECTON. WERE 300 YARDS AHEAD.
(Helpful Tip: Careful, some drivers can get a little bonkers at this intersection.)
Continue on Larsen Road
THERE ARE THE SIGNS.
(Helpful Tip: Prepare to turn left into the Farm.)
Make a Left from Larsen Road
YOU HAVE ARRIVED, THERE IS PLENTY OF PARKING, TABLES & SPACE FOR YOU TO ROAM. WELCOME.
(Welcome to Jack Russell Farm Brewery. We have expanded our parking lots for the 2025 Apple Hill Season. Please observe the signs as we have a circular flow of traffic in effect during Apple Hill. Cheers, Its beer time.)
